Recycling, composite materials, graphene and characterisation of nanomaterials

Intensive networking of partners at the interface between Nanoanalytics and NanoCarbon

Bringing the networks together, getting to know the partners and competences and exchanging ideas on the topics of recycling, composite materials, graphene and analytics was the aim of the joint NanoAnalytik and NanoCarbon network meeting in February 2022. The 35 participants from the two networks took the opportunity to get to know each other and to initiate joint activities and projects.

 

After successful cluster-internal networking between NanoAnalytik and nanoInk, the network managers - at the request of the partners - organised a joint virtual network meeting of NanoAnalytik and NanoCarbon. After introductory words by Dr. Bertsch and Dr. Sauer on the specifics of the respective networks and information on further events at the thematic interface, Dr. Meyer presented funding opportunities. Afterwards, all participants had the opportunity to introduce themselves based on previously submitted hash tags (#1: I am an expert in..., #2: I am interested in...).

In-depth technical exchange took place in separate breakout sessions on desired topics. Challenges in the recycling of carbon materials and the predictability of the optimal composition of composite materials were discussed, as were current problems in the analysis of carbon nanomaterials in the laboratory and in production environments. Within the discussion groups, the participants changed freely, and there was also intensive exchange in bilateral discussion rooms.

The joint network meeting resulted in new contacts between the partners, as well as a project idea on the topic of recycling NanoCarbon-based materials. These were subsequently consolidated again when NanoAnalytik partners took part in the NanoCarbon annual conference in June 2022 with presentations and exhibition stands.
