6. - 9. Oktober 2024, Estland

The International Conference “Nanotechnology and Innovation in the Baltic Sea Region 2024” (NIBS 2024) is organized by the North German Initiative Nanotechnology (NINa SH eV) led by Kiel University, Germany, the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark, Kaunas University of Technology, and the University of Tartu.

The conference will take place from October 6 to 9, 2024 in Tartu at the Vspa Conference Center (V SpaaHotell OÜ, Riia 2, Tartu, 51004) again as a co-conference with the annual FM&NTconference (Functional Materials and Nanotechnologies).

In contrast to national events, the NIBS conference series brings together researchers and business stakeholders from the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) as well as parties involved in cooperation with the partners to share the latest achievements in research, innovative solutions and applications in the field of nanotechnology.

NIBS runs on three topical days: motivation, innovation, and young researchers, where speakers from academia, industry and representatives of the young research generation may present their ongoing work. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Nanotechnology for Green Transition
  • Materials for energy and sustainability
  • Biomaterials and bionics
  • Nanophotonics and quantum optics
  • Nanomaterials for electronic, optoelectronics, and sensing.
