The integration of nanotechnologies into geothermal energy systems opens up enormous potential for innovation. However, combining these two technologies is a challenging task that requires an in-depth understanding of the diverse properties of all the components involved - from nanotechnology, geothermal probes and backfill materials to heat transfer fluids and heat pumps.

An system can only be improved through a common understanding of the interaction of these components.
