Nanosurf GmbH

Nanosurf GmbH is the sales and service subsidiary of the Nanosurf group for Europe. The Nanosurf group is a company founded in 1997 in Liestal, Switzerland, which develops, produces and sells scanning probe microscopes. The products are developed and constructed in the company's headquarters in Liestal by a team of experienced engineers and physicists and are sold throughout the world via subsidiaries and a comprehensive network of sales partners.

The company arose from a hi-tech spin-off from Basel university and has shown impressive growth in the 20 years since its founding. The Nanosurf group now employs more than 40 people.

With the development of a range of compact, simple-to-operate AFMs and STMs, the majority of which are used in teaching, Nanosurf have been able to establish a dominant presence in this market segment. With more than 3,000 of this type of microscope being used in universities and laboratories throughout the world, Nanosurf is the clear market leader in the area of compact teaching AFMs.

Since then Nanosurf has developed several innovative AFM systems that impress with their simple handling and solution-oriented design. The wide range now includes not only the most compact AFM and STM instruments on the market, but also cutting edge AFM systems for research purposes, as well as individual, tailor-made  next-level solutions for very specific applications. Customers from the areas of research, industry and teaching value the innovative approach, the modularity and user-friendliness of the Nanosurf AFM systems.
Nanosurf is the global market leader for:

  • AFM-based single cell and nanomanipulation systems
  • AFM-based diagnostics and automated nanomechanical analysis
  • AFM and STM devices for teaching
  • Compact and integrable AFM systems
  • Custom AFM solutions

Nanosurf is currently taking the next step in the high-end segment, with a few ground-breaking devices and measurement methods in the development pipeline.
