Köstler GmbH

KÖSTLER is a family-owned company founded in 1891. Today, it has locations in Annaberg-Buchholz (Germany, for research and development) and Chomutov (Czech Republic, for serial production). As a small medium-sized enterprise, KÖSTLER has evolved into one of the leading manufacturers of textile fabric airbag hinges. KÖSTLER products are now distributed worldwide and integrated into the vehicle models of numerous manufacturers. This places KÖSTLER at the forefront of the trend towards the use of lightweight components and innovative materials in the automotive sector. In addition, KÖSTLER continues to produce a variety of interior parts for OEMs and their system suppliers. This includes armrests, gearshift boots and knobs, grab handles, sun visors, and steering column gap covers, among others. To meet their customers' high expectations in terms of quality, process reliability, and efficiency, they consistently implement the standards of IATF 16949 in their process landscape.

KÖSTLER also undertakes orders for the production of samples or prototypes. KÖSTLER's core competencies lie in textile assembly, increasingly including the complete handling of entire interior components (i.e., plastic carriers, foaming, lamination with bespoke textile, plastic, or genuine leather coverings produced in-house). This is done in cooperation with qualified, certified industry partners.

Currently, the research and development team is working on various projects, including the development of processes for the production of smart textile heaters suitable for use in vehicles and other applications. To facilitate this, an investment is being made in a special facility at the Annaberg-Buchholz site, which is expected to be operational in 2023.
