Nanolaserbased optical sensing

Under the overall control of the Cluster Nanotechnology, the project consortium comprises:

The project's aim was, by presenting the results of joint research, to gain new cooperation partners in Japan and Russia in the fields of science and economy. Scientific collaborations are being initiated with research institutions and companies in these target countries in order, for example, to cover still-missing spectral regions for sensors, to realise lasers and detection systems with further-improved properties, and to develop new applications. Furthermore, with the presentations of the R&D results at technical symposiums in the target countries, the project addresses scientists from Japan and Russia in a targeted manner in regard to possibilities for collaboration with German research laboratories both in the public and private spheres and points them towards corresponding opportunities.

The partners involved in the project set the benchmark in the field of semiconductor materials, laser sensors and various applications. Nanoinitiative Bayern GmbH is responsible for the management of this project. The project extended over a period of 18 months in total, from 1 January 2008 – 30 June 2009.
