With the participation in nano tech 2019 exhibition from Jan. 30th to Feb. 1st at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, the Cluster Nanotechnology started its trade fair activities 2019. As usual, the Cluster organized a joint stand with the participation of members of the network association 'Nanonetz Bayern e.V.' and with network and project partners.
The following co-exhibitors participated at the largest joint stand ever: Bavarian Research Alliance with the EU project INNOVIP, Danubia Nanotech, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, the European Centre for dispersion technologies EZD, the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC, LUM GmbH Berlin, LUM Japan Co. Ltd. and Schaeffler Technologies.
The exhibition organizers indicated the number of visitors with almost 44.000 over the three days of the event, the last day with appr. 17.000 was the day with the most trade fair visitors.
Main topics of nanotech 2019 were high-quality materials, functional and smart materials, medical engineeering and life sciences, electronics and semiconductor technologies, environmental technologies, energy efficiency, precision equipment and machinery, processing technologies as well as measurement and analytical techniques.
Since 2008, the participation in nano tech is an integral part of the annual cluster activities and thus, underlines the continuity of the activities and the presence of the Cluster Nanotechnology in Japan, a key requirement for sustainable cooperation.
The participation in nano tech 2020 from January 29 - 31 has already been fixed in the calendar. Exhibition space has been reserved accordingly. If you are interested to be part of the joint stand of the Cluster Nanotechnology at nano tech 2020, please get in touch with us until Mai 31th, 2019 (contact person: Sonja Pfeuffer, Phone. +49 931 31 89372, sonja.pfeuffer(at)nanoinitiative-bayern.de).
In parallel to the exhibition nano tech there were organized a series of workshops within the framework of nano week 2019. In cooperation with the Center for Research and Development Strategy, Japan Science and Technology Agency JST the Cluster Nanotechnology organized with the support of the State of Bavaria - Japan Office the First German-Japanese Nanotechnology Commercialization Workshop. Five SME and start-up companies resp. institutions from each country presented their nanotechnology-based innovations. At the same time, the participants discussed about the status of the commercialization and about strategies and activities to support the commercialisation of innovative and marketable products as well as of new emerging technologies.
The workshop with approx. 40 participants was aiming at the stimulation of bilateral cooperation in the field of nanotechnologies. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) for the kind support of the workshop.
