Fraunhofer-Institut für Silicatforschung ISC

The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC (director Prof. Dr. Gerhard Sextl) is one of the leading Bavarian R&D centers for material-based research and development in the fields of energy, environment, health and adaptive systems. With a permanent staff of about 500 scientists and technicians the Institute works to develop innovative materials and technologies for sustainable products and make essential contributions to solving the major global issues and challenges of the future.

As an industry-oriented research institute Fraunhofer ISC develops materials, coating solutions, customized nanoparticles, micro-patterned structures, sensors, actuators as well as cost efficient production and upscaling processes and offers extensive nano analyses and testing. At nano tech 2020, Fraunhofer ISC will present nano-technology based project work as well as functional prototypes, including:

  • Functional coatings & nano particles
  • Nano additives for flame retardancy & inductive heating
  • Micro optics & micro electronics and sensors
  • Key technologies for display application
  • Dielectrics & passivation for electrical interconnection technology
  • Nano-imprint, 2PP technology
